Athens International Literature Festival (AILF) 📅 27–29 March 2026 | 📍 Technopolis City of Athens, Gazi, Athens 🎟️ Free Admission
The 1st Athens International Literature Festival (AILF) opens a new chapter in the cultural life of the city. Taking place from 27 to 29 March 2026 at the iconic Technopolis City of Athens, this inaugural edition transforms the historic industrial complex in Gazi into a vibrant meeting place for stories, ideas and international voices from around the world.
Conceived as a lasting cultural institution, AILF is dedicated to contemporary literature and the transformative power of the written word. Over three days of engaging conversations, panel discussions and parallel events, the festival invites audiences to explore the themes that shape our world — from social change and identity to global challenges and the role of narrative in society.
The opening edition features major international figures from the literary world, including David Szalay, Paul Lynch and celebrated American novelist Nicole Krauss. Notably, the festival’s programme opens with the participation of László Krasznahorkai, the 2025 Nobel Prize in Literature laureate and one of the most influential contemporary writers, renowned for his philosophically rich prose and powerful imagery.
The carefully curated programme allows visitors to engage directly with internationally recognised authors and new voices alike, offering a dynamic blend of talks, discussions, readings and cultural exchanges. Set within a welcoming and outward‑looking space, AILF aims to bring together readers, writers, journalists and culture lovers from Greece and beyond.
